Contour Hand and Shoe

Students created contour (outline), continuous contour (one line) and blind contour (one line, no looking at drawing) drawings of their shoe and hand. This was based on observation. I apologize for the darkness of some of the photos.

Plant Drawing

Students created plant drawings using line. Students observed plant still lifes and learned the techniques of hatching, cross hatching and stippling.

Rule of Thirds Line Drawing

Students created nonobjective line drawings using the rule of thirds. Students had to create a focal point and have movement towards the focal point. Students learned how to make areas change value (become lighter or darker) with just using line. Students came up with their own creative line patterns and textures.
